I have lived with two women both of which I consider to be my wife. The three of us have been together since 1998. We live a physically open lifestyle and are not jealous of the other’s physical relations with other people. We do however live in an emotionally committed relationship to each other and as such consider ourselves a family unit.
We have a son named Draylan. He is the epitome of our lives. All other considerations of family, friends, and each other come second when it comes to him. We are raising our child with the awareness that not all people have the same family arrangements. We are also raising him to understand that not all people share the same views and are not always accepting of differing views of family.
Although I have quite an extended blood family spanning several generations of parents, aunts, uncles, cousins, etc. We do not always consider the criteria for family bonds to be blood only. We have several friends that we have grown closer to over the years that are family (plain and simple). As you can see from the picture above that we are and have a happy family.
I hope this little insight in to my views on family will help you understand ours a little better.
