Bleh, welp, the month of October just breezed on by.  Not much to report.  I was sick with some weird flu for half of it. No real fever, just felt like I got hit by a bus.  I am beginning to work on some personal projects that should be interesting.  Gonna be playing with DVB-H later this month.  I’ll post what I play with when I can.

Looks like I may be doing some more stuff in Los Angeles.  I am going to be looking for a place down there this month.

Anyways, just wanted to write a quick update. 

Sorry, it’s been a while.   We’ve just been moving on with life and getting things on track.  The local news did a piece on us that’s old news like from July.  It was not so flattering.  In response to this, I was watching House the other night and he said something that was appropriate to our situation.  He called one of his workers a circle queen and explained:

Skinny, socially privileged white people get to draw this neat little Circle.  Everyone inside this Circle is normal.  Everyone outside this circle should be beaten, broken, & reset.  So, they can be brought into the Circle.  Failing that, they should be institutionalized.

That statement from House just sorta hit home with our situation.  For those of you that don’t know what that situation is, I will post something on it soon.

As much as I enjoyed the little bugger.  I returned the UX180P today.  There are several things going on in my life that the money would be better used elsewhere (like new parts for the big server that crashed)

Also, the rumor has it that the UX280P is coming out soon with 1 gig of RAM, and I would rather have that device than the UX180P with only 512 meg.

Don’t you worry, I will have one of these on a more permanent arrangement.  I basically wanted to get one to see the viability of the device and decide on getting a better one.  I say they are very viable devices.  There’s just nothing cooler than having a full PC in your pocket.

Welp, we’ve been moving…  Been pretty crazy.  We’re pairing down our 7 bedroom lifestyle into a 2 bedroom condo.  We’re prepping for our moves from Las Vegas to L.A. then to Costa Rica.

Nothing major occurred short of Big Blue’s power supply did not like the new place and had to be replaced.  Big Blue is our main file server.  It has four 400 gig drives in a 1.2 terrabyte array.  It was built when 400 gig drives were brand new (over 2 years). It’s been running like an ox.  Looks like I may be upgrading it this week.  We’ll see.

I have been meaning to get into MXO and burn off some steam.  Hopefully, I’ll find some time to do that this weekend.

The bulk of the move is done, now it’s sorting and shite.

I just wanted to pop a quick note and say hello.  We’ve been busy moving and getting ready for things to come.   It’s been pretty hectic.

I also want to say that I have some good people in my life.  Seems like when I am in need of support or kind words, the right person with the right things to say seem to pop up.

Well, after getting my UX180P, I started doing my due diligence and reading forums and see what works and what does not. I was unable to find anything comprehensive with MCE on the UX. I think that MCE would be great on it because the MCE interface would work out well as a media player etc.

So, I started working on getting Media Center on my UX… here’s what I did:

Well, I have been busy these past few days. We’ve been prepping for our move to the condo in Vegas which is the first step of getting out of dodge. In reference to that, we have been working on selling some stuff around the house. Namely, most of the computer gear. I was originally hoping to sell off everything in one shot, but this is not the case. However, we did sell off 11 of the computers to a budding business and good group of guys. Well, it is moving time.  We won’t really have room for our entertainment system with the moves we have planned.

Well, as much as I hate to admit it. I do have a MySpace. It seems that a lot of my old BBS friends are on there and it’s a way for people to find me if they need to.

Anyways, there is a person that was in my life that helped me get through a very rough phase.

Well, he got a hold of me through MySpace. All I can say is WOW. I love the internet.
