Well, I have been busy these past few days. We’ve been prepping for our move to the condo in Vegas which is the first step of getting out of dodge. In reference to that, we have been working on selling some stuff around the house. Namely, most of the computer gear. I was originally hoping to sell off everything in one shot, but this is not the case. However, we did sell off 11 of the computers to a budding business and good group of guys. I’ve updated the sale site with what we have left http://4sale.thejoe.com we’ve still got a few systems if anyone is interested.

Also, a quick update on MXO (Matrix Online). Jens’ and I have been playing when we get the time and are really enjoying the game. This is not the same game that was out there when I first tried it out a year or so ago. They have made some changes for the better by far. We’ve started working on trying to get some of our guild members over to play the game. If you are interested in trying it out and want to hook up with us in game, go to http://www.orderofz.com . We’re on the “Recursion” server my character is Zaijin and Jens is JayTeKay.

Well, back to the computer stuff. So, one of the things that we have been working on is to get mobile computed as possible. I plan to get a Sony AR series laptop and a UX series micro pc. Part of the way we’re doing this is setting aside the money we make from our computer sales to purchasing these devices. WELL, since I sold 11 computers! I was able to get the Sony UX180p Micro PC (looks tight don’t it?) This thing is tiny. WindowsXP in the palm of my hand. It will come in very handy when going back and forth between LA, Vegas, and Costa Rica.

From cNet:

Weighing 1.2 pounds, the little rapscallion has a 1,024×600 native resolution and is equipped with components that will make a Treo user quiver. You get a low-voltage Intel Core Solo U1400 processor, 512MB of RAM, and a 30GB hard drive, as well as a full version of Windows XP Professional. Networking connections include 802.11a/b/g wireless, Bluetooth, and Cingular EDGE WWAN. Remarkably, for such a small device, the UX180P makes room for two cameras–a 1.3 megapixel one that faces out from the back and a 0.3 megapixel one that faces out from the front for Webcamming–as well as a biometric fingerprint scanner, headphone and mic jacks, a USB port, and a Memory Stick slot. It’s an impressive lineup of specs that you could expect to find on any number of late-model laptops.

Boy it’s a hell of a device. I am going to work on setting up a slimmed down version of XP on it to speed it up a bit. I am so used to working with 1gig+ of ram, that this thing is a little slow for me. But I am loving it!

This device has a GPRS EDGE radio built into it that talks to the Cingular cellular network. (we’re cingular customers yay!) Anyways, we headed down to our favorite Cingular store in Henderson (on Stephanie in front of CompUSA) and talked to our Favorite cell rep, Traci (Kudos!). I won’t go into details of getting the radio on the device, but I did want to give our friend a shout-out!

More on all of this later..
