ARGHHH!
— whine begin —
You know, I hate MySpace. I never wanted a MySpace. I was happy and content just having www.TheJoe.com and my OWN corner of cyberspace.
You know I was happy with using ICQ as my primary IM, but noooo everyone had to go Yahoo, MSN, or AOL. Geez, same deal with MySpace.
— whine end —
Anyways, I joined MySpace because it seemed like a good way for people from my old BBS days to find me. Well, that’s been happening, and a good friend found me so there’s the positive.
I gotta say, all these MySpace modifications, some are such an eye-sore. It’s cool and all that you can modify and override the CSS and HTML that displays the MySpace. I would not say I am a professional web coder by anymeans, but the code on some of these MySpace sites are ALL over the place.
I mean, if you are going to allow us to modify the site to our looks (granted as long as we keep the ad banner) you should really give us functionality to move the page around so at least it won’t break when someone posts a large picture in the comment etc.
Maybe my ranting is pre-mature. But, is there an “Experienced HTML/CSS’ers guide to modifying MySpace” out there some where? I have done my due dilligence, I have searched and looked for the proper details. Most of the stuff that comes up is like “pimpmyspace” and similar stuff. It makes sense to me but makes me cringe.
I know, some of you out there will go, that’s just MySpace, deal with it. I will, what choice do I have.
But, that doesn’t mean I can’t rant about it once in a while.
